Home Sweet Tent

We love to camp. Some think we rough it. Others think we glamp. We think we are somewhere in the middle. We like to camp where we can drive up to the site, unload our stuff, and put up the tent. We prefer to have electricity and water. And I insist on bringing a blow-up mattress.

We eat well when we camp. Why eat hot dogs when you can make chili or steak fajitas? We love sitting by a campfire, but could take or leave smores. (They're so messy).

Camping is our way to escape. It's getting away from our busy lives and reconnecting to our family. It's lying in hammocks, looking at the stars, and playing card games with the kids. Wherever we set up our tent is our happy place.

About Me

jenny.jpg

I say this all the time: God knew what he was doing when he gave me two boys. I am a boys' mom, through and through. With my husband, our two boys, and often our rescued mutt dog, Chase, I like to hike, camp, kayak, and go on adventures, big and small. Professionally, I studied journalism at the University of Alabama and Northwestern University, working as a reporter for the Press-Register in Mobile, Alabama, for 13 years before moving into public relations for the last seven years. Personally, I believe it is better to invest in time and fun activities with your family than it is to invest in stuff. That's because stuff breaks. Memories last a lifetime.
