About This Blog

My husband, my two boys, and our dog Chase love to go on adventures. I'm a writer by trade and love sharing photos and details about our adventures on Facebook. Several of my friends suggested I start a blog. So here it is.

I'm running this blog as a way to share my adventures in hopes that it will help you plan some of your own. As the title of the blog suggests, you can hop in your car and drive for a day or two for a BIG adventure, like one we took this summer to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, Mount Rushmore and the Badlands (5,558 miles, 17 days, and 52 sandwiches). Or you can visit a local trail for the afternoon for a SMALL adventure. We've been hiking some of these local trails as a way to get outdoors and do something during the pandemic, and we are writing reviews here. And then there are those in-between adventures, the long weekend adventures. We love to camp at a state park (Florida has some of the best). So I will write about some of those places here and share some of our camping tips.

Check back as I plan to add adventures past and present.

Here's a list of some of the places we have visited that are included on this blog

About Me

jenny.jpg

I say this all the time: God knew what he was doing when he gave me two boys. I am a boys' mom, through and through. With my husband, our two boys, and often our rescued mutt dog, Chase, I like to hike, camp, kayak, and go on adventures, big and small. Professionally, I studied journalism at the University of Alabama and Northwestern University, working as a reporter for the Press-Register in Mobile, Alabama, for 13 years before moving into public relations for the last seven years. Personally, I believe it is better to invest in time and fun activities with your family than it is to invest in stuff. That's because stuff breaks. Memories last a lifetime.
